The Science, Technology, and Gender: Challenges and Opportunities conference on August 10-13, 2014 at the University of Waterloo, was held jointly with The Association for Feminist Epistemologies, Methodologies, Metaphysics, and Science Studies (FEMMSS) and the Canadian Society for Women in Philosophy (CSWIP). The conference had over 200 presentation with representation from a dozen countries and over a dozen disciplines. Individuals came from the faculty, graduate, and undergraduate level.
The event included sessions around the topics of
- education, policy, and practice,
- feminist thinking across disciplines,
- responsibility, testimony, and ignorance,
- her science, her technology, and
- politics of knowledge
The conference began and concluded with plenary sessions highlighting feminism, science, and technology at Waterloo.
